Pens

Sweet, sweet pens. Fountain pens. Markers. Brush pens. All of the writing implements your heart desires. Here's what I'm currently working with. At the end are a list of stockists who recognize me when I walk in (or click through?). Also…I’m not responsible for your spending. ;-)

Entry Level

You like pens/markers? Okay I guess you do. Let’s talk about entry level markers for you that won’t break the bank…so you can buy a few sets.

Let’s start with:

Crayola Markers: Everyone’s first markers for school, am I right? Easy to use, have a nice tip for both fat and skinny lines.

Crayola Supertips: Smaller/thinner version of the Crayola Markers with more variations in color.

Crayola Brush Markers: Upgraded version of the markers for more of a brush tip. A great option for starting letterers, but you can do the same stuff for cheaper with the original markers.

Medium Level

So you’re ready to make a leap? Awesome. You’ve taken classes or have dedicated yourself to the craft. The following markers/pens will be a little more costly than the Entry Level ones but are often worth the investment!

Royal Talens Ecoline Brush Markers: Beautiful juicy lines with lots of flexibility. Buy singles if you want to try them out.

Karin Brushmarker Pro (link goes to more expensive set but you can buy separately) SUPER juicy brush markers, may take a while to dry but the effect is gorge. May soak through paper so test before you jump into the deep end.

Karin Décobrush: Metallic versions of the Brushmaker. Great for decorative lettering.

Staedtler Triplus Fineliner: For those that want to just write in normal handwriting but want lots of colors, a set will do you righteously. Come in nice boxes for portability. Perfect for Bullet Journal Peeps.

Tombow Dual Brush Pens: Double tipped! It’s like two brushes in one. Color isn’t as bright as Karin/Ecoline, but are a good starter pen.

Kuretake Cambio/Metallic Brush Pens/Zig Cartoonish Brush Pen No. 24/: These pens are by far my favorite. You can’t go wrong with the inky blacks these pens produce. Cheap and easy to find, and refillable too!

NEW: Uni-Posca Paint Markers: Fun paint marker that’s more opaque and looks like real paint!

NEW: Sakura Micron Anniversary pens: Here is the regular set - the Anniversary ones are all black.

Oh you fancy, huh?

Okay. Look, if you made it this far, you should know that you are about to enter a realm of pens that is pretty special to me and is both a habit and addiction. Just remember to never loan your pen to anyone if they don’t know what they are doing. Trust me.

The links below are for pens I have, but may not be the exact colors.

Lamy

-Safari: Everyone’s starter pen.

TWSBI

-Eco: I have the demostrator - a nice upgrade from the Lamy Safari.

-580 Rose Gold: Your next step up pen. Beautiful rose gold elements!

Peyton Street Pens

-Ranga Davenport: I have the red - and it’s a great pen!

Karas Kustom Pens

-Ink: A nice heavy solid pen! Customizable nibs/feeds, etc. Have fun!

-Bolt v2: I gave this away during one of my streams. A great writing tool, perfect signature pen.

-Vertex: I am trying to find my way into loving this pen. It’s beautiful for sure.

Laban Pen

-Mento: The pen I have isn’t this one in particular but I would describe it as unicorn vomit.

Franklin Christoph

-Model 31 Omnis: I have an orange-ish prototype and it’s one of my favorites.

-Model 66 Stabilis: I have the red.

-Model 66p: I have the antique glass. It’s gorgeous.

Stipula

-Etruria Nuda: My super favorite pen of all time. I did not pay the full cost for it because I got it used! Great customer service when it broke!

You don’t need that…

Yes you do.

Laser Level: When I took this out to show folks, you LOST your mind. It’s a helpful tool for the house, so you might as well get one…for the house…but get it for yourself, let’s be honest. I won’t tell.

Stainless Steel T-Square: A weapon or a tool? Both.

NEW: Bone Folder: Use this to make smooth creases in your paper folding.
